It’s not just the bites that make you feel uncomfortable if you have an infestation of bed bugs. But the simple fact is that it can be very easy to bring bed bugs into your home or work place without realising it. Rest assured, an outbreak does not reflect on your standards of cleanliness in any way.

Why prevention is important:

• Bed bugs can easily move from house to house through wall or floor cavitie. Bed bugs, unlike lice, don’t travel directly on people and spread from person to person. But they can travel on people’s clothes. In this way, people can spread bed bugs to others, without even knowing it.
• Bed bugs spread quickly, so infestations need to be treated sooner rather than late.
• Some people think sunlight can kill bed bugs. Heat does kill them but it needs to be quite high (around 100 degrees) and over a sustained period – so it’s very unlikely with UAE weather!
